[origin: EP0437148A1] The comforter (1) has an annular flange (30) intended to be held between the edge (8) of the feeding bottle (2) and a collar (11) of a shrink ring (3) screwed onto the feeding bottle (2); the flange (30) bears on the edge (8) by way of ribs (42) delimiting between them passages (43) for the inlet of air; opposite a confined annular zone (29) of the edge (8), each rib (42) has a break (47) situated in correspondence with a ridge (21) for the collar (11) to bear on the flange (30); thus, by screwing the shrink ring (3) onto the feeding bottle (2) to a greater or lesser extent, it is possible to adjust the useful cross-section of the air inlet passages (43) by deforming the flange (30) by a leverage applied between the ridge (21) and the ribs (42), particularly until the air inlet passages are closed. <??>It is thus possible to prevent the liquid contained in the feeding bottle from escaping when the baby stops sucking.
