[origin: EP0437716A1] In a handtool capable of being switched into various operating states, the mounting of the rotary switch provided therefor is to be simplified. The rotary switch is constructed in the form of a switch knob (37) which is inserted into a housing (2) and connected to the housing (2) by means of a bayonet connection (41, 42, 44, 46). The bayonet connection permits mounting or demounting of the switch knob (37) only if the push button (54) is pressed in a long way in a single rotary position lying outside the contact paths of the switch knob (37). This is achieved by means of teeth (44, 46) of different size and shape, which can be inserted into assigned identically shaped apertures in the annular disc (42) only in the mounted position. The switching movement of the switch knob (37) is transmitted via an eccentric switch finger (36) and a switch spring (30) to corresponding coupling or gearing parts of the hand tool. <IMAGE>
