Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0437736A2] In a multi-barrel rifle having a demountable breech unit (1), the two axially movable strikers (4, 5) are arranged one above the other, are preferably angular and are provided with grooves or edges, thus allowing an advantageous guidance of the strikers (4, 5), even with only one solid side wall, and contributing considerably to ensuring that the breech unit (1) can be made very narrow. Since, in this rifle, the movement of the cocking rod (36) and the movement of the striking pins (8, 9) take place approximately parallel to the movement of the strikers (4, 5), in addition to a relatively simple construction it is also advantageous that the energy for tensioning the helical springs (6, 7) guided by guide pins (10, 11) can be as low as possible. The guide pins (10, 11) connected to the strikers (4, 5) also perform safety functions. <IMAGE>
