[origin: EP0437794A2] In a printing machine (1) serving especially for embossing, the printing table (3) is composed of essentially plate-type table bodies (6, 7, 8) which rest on one another over large areas, are resiliently tensioned relative to one another on the one hand transversely to the plane of the table and of which an intermediate table body (7) is constructed as a wedge plate so that the uppermost table body (8) can be adjusted by means of an adjusting spindle (13) located essentially inside the lowest table body (6). As a result, the printing table (3) has, on the one hand, compact dimensions and, on the other hand, high strength against flexure under the operating forces occurring. <IMAGE>
