[origin: EP0438087A1] The invention relates to a shafting strut for a ship's propulsion, with a drive shaft supported in the shafting strut and with at least one propeller. In order to equip a ship or a boat in a simple manner with a pair of propellers running in opposite directions or to convert a single-propeller drive to a drive with propellers running in opposite directions, a reversing gear unit, which is coupled on the input side to the drive shaft and, on the output side to a hollow shaft surrounding the drive shaft, is to be accommodated in the shafting strut, both shafts being passed out of the shafting strut on the downstream side, and the front propeller of a pair of propellers running in opposite directions is to be mounted on the end of the hollow shaft while the rear propeller of the pair is to be mounted on the end of the drive shaft. <IMAGE>
