Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0438145A2] A tarpaulin (2) and a device (3, 4, 5) for rolling it up is described. Here, no particular measures are required on the vehicle (1) or tent frame which bears the tarpaulin (2). At the lower edge of the tarpaulin (2) a torsionally rigid winding rod is attached which can be coupled to the power take-off of a self-locking winding gear (5). The winding gear (5) is seated on a drive element, in particular a holding pipe (3) in which a drive shaft is mounted which is connected coaxially to the driving journal. The device is driven by means of a manual crank (4) or a motor. An aluminium hollow profile rail can be attached as winding rod to the tarpaulin (2) by means of a strip. By means of sealable connections of the winding rods, the loading space can be secured against theft (see drawing in this respect). <IMAGE>
