Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9004057A1] A thread storage and delivery device for textile machines, in particular for the woof thread of a mechanical loom for weaving in many colours, has a device for limiting the length of measured sections of the thread drawn, a drum-shaped storage element for a stock of wound thread, from which the thread can be drawn over one end of the drum, and at least one stop element axially spaced from the last winding of the stock of thread. The stop element can be moved from a passive position, in which the thread is unwound and drawn past the stop element, to a stopping position, in which the thread under tension is held by the stop element during a pause until the stop element is moved back to the passive position. The axial gap between the last winding (11') of the stock of thread (S) and the stop element (13) can be set on a maximum value (Amax), depending on the quality of the thread, which prevents the thread from a axially wandering during the pause at least in the last winding (11') and in the thread section (12) that extends between the last winding of the stock of thread and the stop element (13).
