[origin: EP0438630A1] An explosion-proof lamp holder (1) for a two-pin base lamp (34) contains a housing (2) in which a socket carrier (9) is rotatably supported. At least one connector socket (38), provided with a laminated contact, is located in the socket carrier (9). In order that a large force can be achieved to push the connecting sockets (38) onto the lamp pins (33), a screwdrive (12) is coupled to the socket carrier (9), which screwdrive (12) pushes the connector sockets (38) onto the lamp pins (33) on rotation of the socket carrier (9), as a consequence of rotation of the fluorescent lamp (34). <IMAGE>
