[origin: EP0438793A2] (Electrical) switch devices are known, having a base part 2 on whose one side there is arranged a switching element having at least one moving switching element part (moving contact 7) and on whose other side there is arranged a thermal trip device, whose trip movement can be transmitted by means of a transmission pin 10, guided in the base part 2, to the moving switching element part. <??>In order to create a reproducible switching behaviour, in this case the length of the longitudinally displaceable transmission pin 10 must be matched to the characteristics of the switch device (tolerances of the base part consisting of insulating material, characteristics and design of the tripping elements, for example spring plates and the like). <??>In order to overcome such tolerance problems, to reduce the assembly cost and to increase the assembly cycle rates, in the case of the new switch device, the transmission pin 10 consists of two parts 11, 12 and is in this way constructed such that its length is variable, in that the one part 11 can be pressed into the other part 12 by exerting axial pressure. Such transmission pins can be preinstalled with an excess length and inserted into premounted switch bases, a mutually opposingly directed pressure being exerted on the elements which act on the pin ends in order deliberately to shorten the transmission pin. <IMAGE>
