Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0438973A1] In a pneumatic selvedge-forming device (1) of a loom, the weft-yarn end is temporarily held by a threading-in nozzle (16b) and subsequently is taken over by a plaiting needle (142) and drawn in between the warp yarns of the loom. A holding arm (15) for the threading-in nozzle (16b) is pivotably mounted by means of a shaft (13) in a housing (10) above the fabric (50) in the region of the stop edge (53) for the weft yarn. The shaft (13) for the holding arm (15) is arranged essentially parallel to the stop edge (53). A drive shaft (14) is mounted in the same housing (10) transversely to the shaft (13) of the holding arm (15) for the purpose of driving a plaiting needle (142). This arrangement affords a compact design of the selvedge-forming device (1), its dimensions being so small that the arrangement above the fabric (15) of the loom does not cause any disturbance.
