[origin: EP0439053A1] The illustrated fastener for adjusting safety belts in particular comprises a housing (1) of essentially U-shaped cross-section, the web part of which consists of a plurality of transverse spars (4,5,19), an adjustable belt band (17) being looped round one transverse spar (4), and a cover part (8), mounted pivotably on the legs (7) of the housing (1), having a clamping nose (12) round which the adjustable belt band (17) is looped and which, in the closing position, interacts with the edge of a transverse spar (4) of the housing (1), in order to detain the adjustable belt band (17) by clamping. Both the housing (1) and the cover part (8) consist of plastic. The web part of the housing (1) is reinforced by a metal insert frame (6) absorbing the tension forces of the belt bands (15,17). The cover part (8) has a design which, at least in the closing position, affords a transition, smooth in the pulling direction of the belt band (17,18), between the cover part (8) and housing (1).
