[origin: EP0439078A1] A writing or dosing implement is provided which possesses a container (101) installed in a housing (100) for the storage of a flowable medium which is fed to a writing tip or nib and can be masked by a cap (102). Pressure compensation when the cap is attached or removed is made possible by the fact that the cavity (117) formed between the container and the housing is connected to the internal space of the cap via at least one connecting duct (110). Moreover, a ventilation aperture (104) may also be provided in the container, this being connected via a long ventilation duct (206) to compensation chambers (211) or a fibre reservoir in the container. In a further writing or dosing instrument, an easily deformable container (601), which is sealed airtight, is provided in the housing to store the flowable medium. The medium passes from the container via a membrane system (666) to a reservoir (662) and is thence fed to a writing tip or the like. In order to permit pressure compensation, the space between the container and the housing is vented to the exterior. <IMAGE>
