[origin: EP0439150A1] In a known flat plug coupling, a latching body is provided which has a pair of parallel arms. The end of the one arm which is at the rear in the insertion direction is integrally connected to the rear end of the other arm by means of a release bar, which runs at right angles to the insertion direction, is constructed as an actuating section and projects against the insertion direction from the relevant coupling part. The new flat plug coupling is intended to be of compact construction and easy to handle. To this end, the actuating section is provided on an outer side of the first coupling part, which forms the gripping region of the first coupling part, as a part of the outer surface. <IMAGE>
