[origin: EP0439399A1] Modular unit for making flat or elongate prestressed concrete products, of the type comprising a rigid frame consisting of two longitudinal members (2) held parallel by at least two distance pieces (4) and intended to receive at least one mould (3) arranged on the distance pieces, and a means for fastening and subjecting to tension a bundle of steel wires intended to cross said mould (3), characterised in that it comprises two joint beams (5) (6) for subjecting to and keeping under tension the steel wires, one (5) fixed and mounted at one end of the longitudinal members, the other (6) movable and connected to the other end of the longitudinal members (2) by at least one jack (9) for subjecting to tension, the joint beams (5) (6) being and remaining mechanically independent of the mould (3) so that the modular unit contains moulds of the type used in large benches. The apparatus for preparing the modular unit comprises a pair of combs (11) equipped with anchorage-holding members (13), to which the reinforcing cables (20) are attached, and a handling device (37) which makes possible subjecting the cables (20) to tension and the positioning of the combs (13) and of the cables (20) in the joint beams (5) (6) of the modular unit. <IMAGE>
