[origin: EP0439406A1] The invention relates to a car headlight, characterised in that it comprises: - a light source (10), - a first reflector (20), of ellipsoidal type, whose first focal point (F1) is close to the source, - a mask (30) passing through the second focal point (F2) of the first reflector and comprising, in the region of said second focal point, a window (32) to let the light through, the geometrical form of this window (32) being fixed and predetermined so as to define a virtual light source whose emitted beam pattern corresponds essentially to said geometrical form, and - a second reflector (40), situated on the other side of the mask with respect to the first reflector, whose surface determines by itself the position of the images of the virtual source as a function of a given photometry. <??>Application in particular to headlights comprising an arc light designed to cooperate with a reflector which itself generates a clean-cutting beam. <IMAGE>
