Abstract (en)
The invention relates to an ignition device for water-cooled or air-cooled internal-combustion engines, in which multiple ignition is possible with at least two spark plugs which are electrically connected in series, in that at least one of the spark plugs of a pair of spark plugs is arranged electrically insulated from the cylinder housing whilst the other spark plug of the pair of spark plugs is screwed into the cylinder head in a conventional manner. In order to avoid temperature stressing of the electrically insulated spark plug, it is proposed with the invention that the latter be arranged in the water-cooled or air-cooled area of the cylinder housing.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Zündanlage für wasser- oder luftgekühlte Brennkraftmaschinen, bei welcher mit wenigstens zwei elektrisch hintereinandergeschalteten Zündkerzen eine Mehrfachzündung möglich ist, indem wenigstens eine der Zündkerzen eines Zündkerzenpaares elektrisch isoliert gegenüber dem Zylindergehäuse angeordnet ist, während die andere Zündkerze des Zündkerzenpaares in herkömmlicher Weise in den Zylinderkopf eingeschraubt ist. Zur Vermeidung von Temperaturbelastungen der elektrisch isolierten Zündkerze wird mit der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, daß diese im wasser- oder luftgekühlten Bereich des Zylindergehäuses angeordnet ist.
