[origin: EP0440533A1] The invention relates to a material intended to be used while making a floor in a building construction. <??>According to the invention, this material comprises an upper layer (2), an intermediate layer (3) and a lower layer (4), while: a) each of the upper (2) and lower (4) layers is made from oxidised bitumen (5) reinforced with first fibres (6) and has a surface density lying between 500 and 1000 g/m<2>; and b) the intermediate layer (3) is made from an organic binder (7), such as a bitumen, and by second fibres (8) which are embedded in the said binder and have a non-woven form. <??>One application is constituted by the laying of tiling which does not develop cracks. <IMAGE>
