[origin: EP0440554A1] A document to be authenticated by an authenticating composition producing a distinctive inscription on the document to be authenticated. The document contains at least one compound taking part in the authentication, this compound being in solid form in the document to be authenticated and reacting, when marked with the authenticating composition, with a coreactant contained in the said authenticating composition, to form a coloured inscription. The document may also comprise at least one desensitised zone. Application to authentication, especially of admission tickets to sporting, cultural and other events.
