Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0440870A1] The expansion joint strip is composed of elastic material, in particular synthetic rubber. It has a central portion (1) for bridging a construction joint and two lateral edge portions (3), to which virtually inextensible side strips (5; 15, 17) are attached as adhesive agents with respect to the construction member. The side strips (5; 15, 17) are applied to both surfaces of the edge portions (3), in particular pressed on, and are flush with their longitudinal edges (7). The side strips (5; 15, 17) can be composed of woven or nonwoven fabric, bituminous masses or a combination of these materials. They can be stepped on the central portion (1) or pressed into the material of the edge portions (3), so that a particularly advantageous transverse-pull introduction and/or sealing is possible there. <IMAGE>
