Firefighting apparatus for shelving units, with a conveying vehicle for storage and removal of stored material, which moves horizontally and vertically between the shelves controlled by a control unit, and with means for detecting a fire. For the selective extinction of a fire, there is provided in a predetermined storage place of a shelf a freely removable, independently working extinguishing unit which in the event of a fire is picked up by the conveying vehicle and taken to the location of the fire, where the extinguishing unit is set in operation. The extinguishing unit can in this connection have any extinguishing means, in particular therefore also those which are suitable for deep-freeze shelving units, e.g. powder, gas (halon) or the like. The apparatus works fully automatically, is simple in construction and reliable in use. <IMAGE>

Brandlöscheinrichtung für ein Regallager, mit einem zwischen den Regalen horizontal und vertikal durch eine Steuereinrichtung gesteuert fahrenden Förderfahrzeug zur Einlagerung und Entnahme von Lagergut, und mit Mitteln zur Feststellung eines Brandes. Zur gezielten Löschung eines Brandes ist in einem vorbestimmten Lagerplatz eines Regals eine frei entnehmbare, unabhängig arbeitende Löscheinheit vorgesehen, die im Brandfalle von dem Förderfahrzeug aufgenommen und zum Brandort gefahren wird, wo die Löscheinheit in Tätigkeit gesetzt wird. Die Löscheinheit kann dabei beliebige Löschmittel aufweisen, insbesondere also auch solche, die für Tiefkühlregallager geeignet sind, z.B. Pulver, Gas (Halon) oder dergleichen. Die Einrichtung arbeitet voll automatisch, ist einfach im Aufbau und zuverlässig im Einsatz. <IMAGE>
