2.1 Previously used reel changers have a belt drive of pendulum-type construction, mounted above the reel, for driving the reel which is being unwound. A second belt drive, which is designed only for the specific task and can therefore only be used to a limited extent, serves for driving the other reel during preparation of a reel change, regardless of whether it is a remnant reel or a new reel. 2.2 The reel changer according to the invention has for each reel an independently controllable drive which is located in each case within the outer circle surrounding the reels. It thus affords the advantage of being able to unwind each reel down to any desired degree, i.e. not necessarily completely, and of being able to drive each reel right to the end using one and the same drive, even during reel changing. 2.3 The invention can be used for all reel changing devices. <IMAGE>

Die Vorrichtung weist für jede Rolle (10;11) einen unabhängig steuerbaren und jeweils innerhalb des die Rollen umschließenden Hüllkreises liegenden Antrieb (22;25;26) auf. Er bietet so den Vorteil, jede Rolle bis zu einem beliebigen Grad, d.h., nicht unbedingt vollständig, abwickeln zu können und jede Rolle auch beim Rollenwechsel bis zum Schluß mit ein und demselben Antrieb antreiben zu können. <IMAGE>
