[origin: WO9004851A1] The invention relates particularly to a detector allowing to carry out a bidimensional analysis of a neutral particle flow. Said detector is comprised of a solid planar converter (5) including a bidimensional array of cells (such as 9c), a network of charge multiplication wires (6) using the stimulated ionization of a gas, and a cathode grid (7). The cells provide for both the conversion of neutral particles and the collecting of charges, the ionization being preferably stimulated till the occurrence of self-regulated trails of electrons (streamer mode). Application to imaging.

L'invention concerne notamment un détecteur permettant une analyse bidimensionnelle d'un flux de particules neutres. Ce détecteur comprend un convertisseur plan solide (5) composé d'une matrice bidimensionnelle de cellules (telles que 9c), un réseau de fils de multiplication de charges (6) utilisant l'ionisation stimulée d'un gaz, et une grille cathodique (7). Les cellules assurent à la fois la conversion des particules neutres et un collectage de charges et l'ionisation est de préférence stimulée jusqu'à l'apparition de trainées auto régulées d'électrons (streamer mode). Application à l'imagerie.
