[origin: EP0442010A1] In hitherto customary methods, the steel surface sections have been provided with a corrosion-protection lacquer. This method had, under unfavourable conditions, e.g. with moist lightweight concrete, unsatisfactory results, especially with regard to the durability of the lacquer. To obtain permanent, satisfactory corrosion protection in steel surface sections of reinforced lightweight concrete elements, a shaped part (4) consisting of a sleeve which is closed on one side and is preferably made from a special steel, is pushed over the reinforcing-steel end (3) into the lightweight concrete element (5). As a result, a smooth-faced outer surface, on which the adhesion of a subsequent coat of paint, a coating (6) or the like is guaranteed, is obtained. <IMAGE>
