[origin: EP0442409A1] DC contactor for high power, comprising a main conduction circuit with fixed contacts (4) and moving contact (3), and a cutoff circuit with fixed contact (7A) and lever (6) rotatable about an axis (8) and provided at its end with a contact (7), with operating member (16) provided with a thruster able to repel a moveable core (20A) towards the rotary lever by way of at least one spring. Its moving conduction contact (3) is arranged between the rotary lever (6) and the fixed conduction contacts (4) and is supported by the moveable core at a point situated between the axis (8) and the cutoff contact (7) of the rotary lever. <IMAGE>
