Abstract (en)
Process for pickling steel materials, especially stainless steel, characterised in that the materials are treated with an aqueous solution containing ferrous ions and ferric ions and an organic acid which does not oxidise iron in a sufficient quantity to maintain the Fe<2+> and Fe<3+> ions in solution, the ferrous and ferric ions being present in the solution in a Fe<2+>/Fe<3+> ratio of between 10/90 and 40/60, and in that the Fe<2+>/Fe<3+> ratio is maintained in the specified range by adding hydrogen peroxide.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de décapage de matériaux en acier, notamment en acier inoxydable, caractérisé en ce que l'on traite les matériaux par une solution aqueuse contenant des ions ferreux et des ions ferriques ainsi qu'un acide organique non oxydant du fer en une quantité suffisante pour maintenir en solution les ions Fe²<+> et Fe³<+>, les ions ferreux et ferriques étant présents dans la solution dans un rapport Fe²<+>/Fe³<+> compris entre 10/90 et 40/60, et en ce que l'on maintient le rapport Fe²<+>/Fe³<+> dans l'intervalle défini par addition de peroxyde d'hydrogène.
