Das Bauwerk enthält eine Durchfahrtsöffnung 2, einen Verschluß der Durchfahrtsöffnung 2, der aus wenigstens einer Klappe 3 besteht, eine Nische 8 zur Unterbringung der Klappe 3, die in einer Wehrsohle 5 ausgeführt ist, und ein Mittel zum Heben und zum Senken der Klappe 3. Die Klappe 3 enthält einen Staukörper 4 und ist mit Hilfe einer Waagerecht angeordneten Achse 6 mit der wehrsohle 5 verbunden, In der Grundfläche 10 der Nische 8 ist ein Graben 9 ausgeführt, der durch den Staukörper 4 dann, wenn sich dieser Staukörper 4 in der Nische 8 befindet, überdeckt wird und zusammen mit der unteren Wand 11 dieses Staukörpers 4 einen auf dem Umfang geschlossenen Kanal bildet.
