Abstract (en)

At a check-out counter in self service shops having automatic scanning of the goods presented by the customer, a monitoring count of the scanned goods is provided as the goods are conveyed to the packing box. This monitoring count is effected with the aid of a light barrier. A first count takes place at the same time as the articles are scanned in each case. The counting pulses supplied from the two counting paths can be evaluated in different ways. Thus, when the counting pulses are in agreement a light signal recognisable to the customer and the cashier can be triggered. The signal evaluation can also be used in order to shut down the conveyor belt or to initiate other measures. <IMAGE>

An einem Kassenstand für Ausgangskassen in Selbstbedienungsläden mit Selbst-Scanning der vom Kunden herangebrachten Waren ist im Verlauf der Beförderung der Waren zur Packbox eine Kontrollzählung der gescannten Waren vorgesehen. Bewirkt wird diese Kontrollzählung mit Hilfe einer Lichtschranke. Eine erste Zählung findet jeweils zugleich mit dem Scannen der Waren statt. Die von den beiden Zählstrecken gelieferten Zählimpulse können auf verschiedene Weise ausgewertet werden. So kann im Falle der übereinstimmung der Zählimpulse ein für den Kunden und die Kassiererin erkennbares Lichtsignal ausgelöst werden. Die Signalauswertung kann auch dazu benutzt werden, das Förderband abzuschalten oder andere Maßnahmen einzuleiten. <IMAGE>
