[origin: EP0443504A1] The cork stopper consists of a hollow body which is made of plastic, is open at the top, and whose opening is closed by a lid. The cork stopper is characterised in that a compressed, elastic body (3) is contained in the interior of the hollow body (1), a charge carrier (4) being arranged on the end of the compressed, elastic body (3) facing the opening of the hollow body, and the charge carrier (4) being held in this position by the hollow body and the elastic body (3) thus being held in a compressed state when the shaft (1<a>) of the hollow body (1) is in the bottle neck and is prevented by the latter from escaping outwards. The cork stopper serves for closing bottles containing carbonated beverages, in particular sparkling wine. The charge space above the charge carrier can be filled with confetti, glitter, a paper streamer or the like. When the bottle is opened, this material (8) is ejected from the cork stopper. <IMAGE>
