Abstract (en)
This joint is consisting of an excavation or trench (5) coinciding with the hollow space or gap (3) between the two adjacent bridge elements (1, 2) and filled two layers of material, i.e. a lower, highly viscoelastic layer and an upper wearing course (14) having low viescoelastic properties and therefore rigid and strong. Two excavated strips (15) in highly deformable material are located on both sides of the top layer. A wire netting separates the lower layer (12) from the top layer (14). All thermal and mechanical deformations of the two bridge elements (1, 2) are absorbed by the lower layer (12) of the joint and by the two strips (15) located on both sides of the upper layer (14), thus safeguarding the integrety and resistance to wear of the top layer (14). <IMAGE>
