[origin: EP0444587A1] A hook (10) for a separator for the successive pick-up and separation of threads (1, 2, 3) held in a row has a leading edge (12) and one or two hook-shaped recesses (13, 14) in the leading edge (12). To improve the reliability, the recess (13, 14) has a depth (Y) in the direction of movement of the hook (10) which is greater than half the width (X) of the recess (13, 14). A deflector edge (16) extends at an angle of 15 to 90 DEG relative to the direction of movement of the hook (10) between the hook tip (17) and the leading edge (12).
