[origin: EP0444972A1] The lock comprises a stator (302), a rotor (303) mounted so that it freely rotates in the stator (302), a member such as a driver (304) provided towards one end of the rotor and a bolt (306) suitable for passing from a withdrawn position to an active position to ensure the rotational driving of the driver by the rotor. The rotor (303) comprises a housing (308) opening at the end opposite the driver and suitable for receiving a key (307), selection members (309) being provided to traverse the wall of the rotor (303) radially and to emerge into the housing in such a way as to interact with the key. The bolt (306) is situated outside the housing (308) provided in the rotor for the key; means for displacing the bolt are provided outside the rotor (303) and are suitable for displacing the bolt, when a matching key has been inserted, towards the active position. The bolt (306) is a swinging bolt and is constituted by a part extending along the length of the rotor (303) and articulated on a horizontal spindle (64) carried externally by this rotor (303), the bolt (306) comprising a driving means (62). <IMAGE>
