The jaw (4) is carried by a mobile protective casing (3) which surrounds the control rod (21) such that it is lowered after the said casing has arrived at the end of its travel while the rod mentioned above continues its longitudinal travel. The axial connection between the casing and the rod is operated by means of a split ring (5) capable of retracting radially during the clamping. <IMAGE>

Le mors (4) est porté par un carter mobile de protection (3) qui enveloppe le doigt de commande (21) de sorte qu'il est abaissé après que ledit carter soit arrivé en fin de course alors que le doigt précité poursuit sa course longitudinale.
