[origin: EP0445407A1] A drive assemby, in particular for driving a vehicle, comprises a traction engine and an auxiliary engine as well as auxiliary assemblies which can be selectively driven by one of the engines. To obtain a compact arrangement, an auxiliairy engine in the form of a single-row radial engine designed as an internal combustion engine is arranged in a free front region of the traction engine. To obtain a compact, powerful arrangement, the single-row radial engine is designed as a 4-cylinder 2-stroker engine with a crank loop driving mechanism.
