A sliding gate valve for a metallurgical pouring vessel, especially a casting ladle, with a slide plate (5) which is held in a displaceable frame (9), has at least one pouring opening (18) and can be displaced relative to a top plate (4) arranged above the said slide plate and provided with a passage opening (19). The top plate (4) is fixed on a mounting plate (7) connected to the base (6) of the pouring vessel, and the frame (9) surrounding the slide plate is mounted within a slide housing (8) connected to the mounting plate (7) and can be displaced backwards and forwards in the direction of displacement (36) of the slide plate. The frame (9) surrounding the slide plate (5) has contact-pressure elements in the form of spring elements (10), by means of which the slide plate (5) can be pressed against the top plate (4). A box (11), which can be closed in a gas-tight manner and into which there opens a conduit (20) for inert gas, in particular argon, is constructed around the sliding gate valve or slide housing (8), allowing the creation of an inert gas environment within the box (11). <IMAGE>

Schieberverschluß für ein metallurgisches Gießgefäß, insbesondere eine Gießpfanne, mit einer in einem verschiebbaren Rahmen (9) gehaltenen, mindestens eine Ausgußöffnung (18) aufweisenden Schieberplatte (5), die gegen eine darüber angeordnete, mit einer Durchtrittsöffnung (19) versehene Kopfplatte (4) verschiebbar ist. Die Kopfplatte (4) ist an einer mit dem Boden (6) des Gießgefäßes verbundenen Montageplatte (7) festgelegt, und der die Schieberplatte umfassende Rahmen (9) ist innerhalb eines mit der Montageplatte (7) verbundenen Schiebergehäuses (8) in Schieberplatten-Verstellrichtung (36) hin- und herverschiebbar gelagert. Der die Schieberplatte (5) umfassende Rahmen (9) weist Anpreßelemente in Form von Federelementen (10) auf, durch die die Schieberplatte (5) gegen die Kopfplatte (4) anpreßbar ist. Um den Schieberverschluß bzw. das Schiebergehäuse (8) herum ist ein gasdicht abschließbarer Kasten (11) gebaut, in den eine Inertgas-, insbesondere Argongas-Leitung (20) mündet, so daß innerhalb des Kastens (11) eine Inertgasumgebung herstellbar ist. <IMAGE>
