[origin: EP0446660A1] In a device (1) for the controlled filling of a transport container (11) with piece goods, the transport container (11) is arranged vertically over a conveying means (2) and consists of two shells (12 and 13) which can be displaced in a controlled manner. Furthermore, there is arranged underneath and passing through the conveying means (2) a lifting element (31) which can be moved towards and introduced into the transport container (11), said element being drivably connected to an actuator which interacts with the shells (12, 13) of the transport container and by means of which one or both shells (12, 13) can be forcibly displaced as a function of the lifting movements of the lifting element. <??>It is thus possible for one or more layers of piece goods to be filled into a transport container by mechanical means without the goods requiring human contact. <IMAGE>
