Abstract (en)
[origin: JPH04222232A] PURPOSE: To reduce a required space and improve the surface utilization degree and treatment precision of the carding work by setting the carding work width of a flat card for staple fibers. CONSTITUTION: In a flat card for staple fibers having a fiber length of about 60 mm or less, the working width of a fillet wound on the outer periphery of a main cylinder for determining a carding work width is set to >=800 mm, preferably 400-600 mm. The diameter of the main cylinder is further set to 400-600 mm. The diameters of a licker-in and a doffer are set to 90-115 mm and 200-300 mm, respectively, and the working widths of the licker-in and the doffer are equalized to the above working widths, respectively. Such the reduction of the working widths in comparison with conventional ones reduces the deflections of working parts in the direction rectangular to the direction of the carding work, and improves the precision of the carding works.

<IMAGE>
