[origin: WO9006588A1] An electromagnetic relay for consumers with a high switch-on current surge is proposed which has a main contact (21) and a preliminary contact (20). Both main (21) and preliminary (20) contacts are fitted at a squared-off end (24a, 26a) of each of several spaced tags (23 to 27) arranged side by side and proceeding from a common yoke (28) of a terminal support (22). The tags (24, 26) bearing the main and preliminary contacts (21, 20) are each connected on each side to a neighbouring tag (23, 25, 27) via connecting webs (29, 30). Between the yoke (28) and the connecting webs (29, 30), the tags (24, 26) bearing the main and preliminary contacts (21, 20) each have an extension zone (31, 32) where the main and preliminary contacts (21, 20) may be independently adjusted by compressing the material.
