[origin: EP0447761A1] The invention relates to a rectangular manhole cover in tandem arrangement for service channels and the like. One of the lids (10), preferably the first in the row, contains a hinge (14) which is combined with an opening aid (25) and is arranged on an additional frame part (3). The frame part (3) is here dimensioned in such a way that the lid (10) is given the next larger grid dimension for the frame. In this way, frames which can be kept in stock can be used in each case. The additional hinge parts (12) are preferably provided with gullies (22) which make the cover tight against surface water.
