The invention relates to a sound damping element with surface mouldings. To improve sound damping it is proposed that the surface mouldings should be grooves open to the outside which run parallel to one another, are separated from one another by bulbous bridges and whose cross-section exhibits a slightly undercut shape, so that the sound inlet slit graduates into a broadening internal area of the groove. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Schalldämmbauteil mit Oberflächenprofilierungen. Zur Verbesserung der Schalldämmung wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Oberflächenprofilierungen parallel zueinander verlaufende, durch wulstartige Stege voneinander getrennte, nach außen offene Nuten sind, deren Querschnitt eine leicht hinterschnittene Form aufweist, so daß der Schalleintrittsschlitz in einen sich erweiternden Nutinnenraum übergeht. <IMAGE>
