[origin: EP0447903A1] The unwinding device (10) has a vertically adjustable bearing arrangement (17) for the mounting of the roll unit (18). The roll core (19) carries the roll (20) composed of printed products (22) wound together with the wrapping band (21). For unwinding the printed products (22) and for the circumferential drive of the roll unit (18), the latter is lowered onto the round bands (28, 28') drivable in the direction of the arrow A. The band reel (42) comes to bear on the wrapping band (21) on the circumference (104) of the roll (20). The band reel (42) has means for intercepting and taking over the outer end of the wrapping band (21). It is consequently no longer necessary to release the wrapping-band end from the roll (20) by hand and fasten it to the band reel (42). <IMAGE>
