Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0447966A1] The machine possesses a horizontal roller (1) which is equipped with beating pins (3) and under the underside of which bar grids (4, 5) are arranged. Above the top side of the roller (1) open out at one end of the latter an inlet line (9) and at the other end an outlet line (10) for a stream of conveying air transporting the textile fibres in flock form. Obliquely set guide plates (11) are arranged above the top side of the roller (1) between the mouths of the inlet line (9) and of the outlet line (10). The guide plates (11) limit transfer chambers which move the stream of conveying air further in the direction of the axis of the roller (1). The transfer chambers are connected to an air-permeable and dust-permeable wall (30) which is provided on the right-hand side of the machine, as seen in the Figure, and which is part of a vacuum chamber (20). The machine can consequently separate out of the stream of fibre flocks not only coarser impurities through the bar grids (4, 5), but also fine dust-like impurities which are sucked through the air-permeable and dust-permeable wall (30) into the vacuum chamber (20) and then into the suction line (15). <IMAGE>
