Each cell (5) contains guides (7), (8) for guiding a vehicle containing module (6) selectively in a vertical or horizontal direction. For vertical movement, the horizontal guides (8) are retracted and vertical actuators (10) move the module (6) on vertical guides (7). For horizontal movement, the vertical guides (7) are retracted and horizontal actuators (9) move the module (6) on horizontal guides (8). In this manner the module (6) may be freely moved about the garage (1). The invention also includes a fire fighting system (45) and a repair module (6).
