[origin: EP0448849A1] The invention relates to a boom for an excavator or the like, consisting of (at least) two first and second arms (3, 4) which are connected to one another in an articulated manner and are to be pivoted relative to one another by means of a piston-cylinder arrangement (5) which runs in front of or below the connecting line through the two articulation points of the first arm, one arm (3) (the first) being linked to the implement frame, and the articulation point of the piston-cylinder arrangement on the second arm (4) being arranged at a distance from the articulation point of the second arm on the first arm, the piston-cylinder arrangement running at least partly inside the first arm or being integrated in the same.
