The invention relates to a combination lock for containers, such as suitcases, briefcases or the like. The combination lock has setting wheels (3) for an opening combination variable from outside the container and a pull knob (2) for opening the combination lock. <??>The invention is intended to achieve an increase in operating reliability, particularly with regard to the undesired or unauthorised adjustment of a set opening combination. <??>For this, there is a coding element (1) which is adjustable from outside the container out of its blocking position, in which it prevents a variation of the combination, into its release position, in which it allows a variation of the opening combination, and vice versa. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kombinationsschloß für Behältnisse, wie Koffer, Aktentaschen od.dgl. Das Kombinationsschloß weist Einstellräder (3) für eine von der Außenseite des Behältnisses her veränderbare Öffnungskombination und einen Zugknopf (2) zum Öffnen des Kombinationsschlosses auf. Mit der Erfindung soll eine Erhöhung der Bedienungssicherheit, insbesondere hinsichtlich der ungewollten bzw. unbefugten Verstellung einer eingestellten Öffnungskombination erreicht werden. Hierzu ist ein Codierelement (1) vorgesehen, das von der Außenseite des Behältnisses her aus seiner Blockierstellung, in der es eine Veränderung der Öffnungskombination verhindert, in seine Freigabestellung, in der es eine Veränderung der Öffnungskombination zuläßt, und umgekehrt verstellbar ist. <IMAGE>
