[origin: EP0449781A2] The relative speed between the striking edge of the striking tools (9) and the rotating ring of material for grinding in the grinding chamber (16) is constantly increased by the arrangement of stator tools (8) which can be readjusted during operation from the outside in the direction of the striking circle of the striking tools (9) and are mounted at least on one side in the housing; the coarse-grade particles are lifted off from the sifter (7) and the sifting surface is thus increased. By making the stator tools (8) follow in the direction of the striking circle of the striking tools (9) the wear of the striking edges and of the stator tools (8) is compensated. As a result, it is possible to use, within a predetermined range of particle sizes, relatively large hole diameters of the sifter (7), as originally provided. <IMAGE>
