Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0450114A1] The invention relates to a method of manufacturing portable packaging bags made of plastic material and each having an approximately rectangular front and rear face portion which are interconnected laterally by side portions and by a folded top portion in the top region and which have a handle extending over the folded top portion. The following process steps are used essentially for manufacturing: - Spreading out a continuous sheet (26) in the running direction V of the sheet, - folding out two double layers (36, 37) for the handle perpendicular to the sheet, the double layers for the handle being located parallel to one another on the same side of the sheet (26) and parallel to the centre-line (y-y) of the sheet and their folding creases extending in the running direction V of the sheet, - folding in the central portion, forming an inside fold (24) along the centre-line y-y, - placing one above the other the face portions (9, 10) located on the outside in relation to the double layers for the handle to form a half tube, - welding seams on the vertical edges of the face portions, - punching and welding a handle contour on the double layers (36, 37) for the handle, - cutting to length the sheet (26) with the double layers for the handle in single pieces of a length required in each case for one bag. <IMAGE>
