A loading mechanism for guns has a loading shell for receiving projectiles from a magazine (3) and for transferring them into a loading position, in which the projectile (4) lying on the loading shell is aligned with the core axis of the gun (2) and from which it is movable together with the loading shell (13) into a feed position, from which it is accelerated into the barrel by means of a feeder. In order to position the projectile exactly for the feed position, especially also in a negative index position of the gun, and to absorb the acceleration forces acting on the horizontal projectile during movement, there is a holding device (17) which can be advanced radially in the region of the upper vertex of the projectile and which, by means of a gear driven by means of the travelling movement of the loading shell, can be moved out of a release position in the region of the loading position, during movement into the feed position, into a holding position pressing the projectile against the loading shell and can be released again in the feed position.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Laden von Rohrwaffen weist eine Ladeschale zum Aufnehmen der Geschosse aus einem Magazin (3) und Überführen in eine Ladeposition auf, in der das auf der Ladeschale liegende Geschoß (4) mit der Seelenachse der Rohrwaffe (2) fluchtet und aus der es mit der Ladeschale (13) in eine Ansetzposition verfahrbar ist, aus der heraus es mit einem Ansetzer in das Rohr beschleunigt wird. Um das Geschoß für die Ansetzposition, insbesondere auch in einer negativen Indexstellung der Waffe, exakt zu positionieren und die beim Verfahren auf das liegende Geschoß wirkenden Beschleunigungskräfte aufzunehmen, ist eine im Bereich des oberen Scheitels des Geschosses radial zustellbare Halteeinrichtung (17) vorgesehen, die mittels eines durch die Fahrbewegung der Ladeschale angetriebenen Getriebes aus einer Freigabestellung im Bereich der Ladeposition während der Bewegung in die Ansetzposition in eine das Geschoß gegen die Ladeschale pressende Halteposition bewegbar und in der Ansetzposition wieder lösbar ist.
