[origin: EP0450391A1] Hitherto, only one roller carrier, which is connected to the supporting frame, has been used to support the metal strand emerging from the strip casting plant. However, it is a disadvantage here that, if required, the roller carrier can only be adjusted as a whole, i.e. as a complete unit, relative to the strand of cast metal and does not allow any adjustment and/or setting, in particular fine setting, in mutually separate zones relative to the cast strand. According to the invention, in contrast, adjustment and/or setting of the rollers of the roller carrier relative to the cast strand is possible in a simple manner in any desired zone by virtue of the fact that the roller carrier (3) is divided into a plurality of roller-carrying segments (5) which are connected to adjusting devices (6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
