A garbage collection vehicle which has, mounted on a large ball bearing, a rotating drum-shaped collection container equipped with a central bearing at the front and whose open end wall at the rear can be closed by means of a swing-up cover which is held non-rotatably with respect to the collection container and has a helical deflection or compaction plate mounted on a frustocone, the cover mounting and the locking means together with the cover-opening cylinders and the rotary drive for the drum being arranged in a box-shaped frame member, is characterised according to the invention in that the rotating collection container (1) is rigidly connected to the outer race (7a) of the large ball bearing (7) and the stationary inner race (7b) is provided with bearing plates (10, 26, 27) for receiving the closed box-shaped frame member (25), as is known per se, and the outer race (7a) of the large ball bearing (7) carrying the toothing (28, 31). <IMAGE>

Ein Müllfahrzeug mit einer an einem Großkugellager gelagerten, rotierenden Trommel als Sammelbehälter, welcher frontseitig mit einer zentralen Lagerstelle ausgerüstet ist, dessen heckseitige offene Stirnwand mit einem nach oben schwenkbaren Deckel, welcher in bezug auf den Sammelbehälter undrehbar gehalten ist, welcher an einem Kegelstumpf ein schraubenförmiges Leit- bzw. Verdichtungsblech aufweist, verschließbar ist, wobei die Deckellagerung, die Verriegelung, sowie die Deckelöffnungszylinder und der Drehantrieb für die Trommel in einem Kastenträger angeordnet sind, ist erfindungsgemäß dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der rotierende Sammelbehälter (1) mit dem Außenring (7a) des Großkugellagers (7) fest verbunden ist und der ruhende Innenring (7b) mit Lagerblechen (10,26,27) versehen ist, zur Aufnahme des - wie an sich bekannt - geschlossenen Kastenträgers (25) und wobei der Außenring (7a) des Großkugellagers (7) die Verzahnung (28,31) trägt. <IMAGE>
