[origin: EP0451348A1] Screw press 1 for pressing fibrous material, in particular waste paper, with a pressing screw 3, which is floatingly mounted, whose conical pressing part 5 runs in a press insert 7 of a nozzle 6 with a small circumferential gap 10. The press insert 7 has, as seen in the conveying direction 11, a front, tapering region 12, in which lands 22 and grooves 23 are incorporated and an adjoining, slightly widening outlet region 13 with an outlet orifice 14 to which are closely connected the jaws 8, 8' of a pressing clamp 9. Beginning at the outlet orifice 14 in a horizontal axial plane 20 of the nozzle 6 is a clearance 19 which extends outwards and against the conveying direction 11 to the compaction zone 17 of the nozzle 6, with a re-entrant, wide rim 26 on the outside at which an extension 21 of the movable jaw 8' of the pressing clamp 9 comes into contact with the inner edge 33' and whose movement, which is controlled by an actuator via a linkage, has an axial component and a radial component, by means of which the pressure on the material being pressed is controlled in such a way that the jaw 8' remains against the rim 26.
